Biography
Dr. Liu is currently an Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering at City College of New York/City University of New York. Dr. Liu obtained his Ph.D. degree in Geotechnical Engineering from Columbia University in 2002. Before joining CCNY in Fall, 2007, Dr. Liu worked at Tsinghua University in China, first as a lecturer and later as an associate professor of Civil Engineering. Prof. Liu’s research covers various fields of geotechnical engineering, including static and dynamic soil-structure interaction, constitutive modeling, reinforced soil structures, soil liquefaction and underground structures. When he was working in China, his research was sponsored by the Natural Science Foundation of China, the Ministry of Education of China, and serveral state-owned companies.
